The hottest sports cars most of us can’t afford

Forbes names the hottest sports cars of 2008. Included on the list:
- Lamborghini Reventon
- Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster
- Audi R8
- Maserati Gran Turismo
- Nissan GT-R
- Porsche 911 GT2
Unfortunately, though they may be desirable, they’re also out of reach for most of us. The Lamborghini Reventon, for instance, lists for $1.4 million. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster (pictured) comes in at $497,750. The Audi R8 appears bargain-basement priced at a mere $109,000. Prices for the Maserati Gran Turismo and the Nissan GT-R have yet to be announced, although it might be true to say, “If you have to ask, you can’t afford.” Porsche hasn’t said what its 911 GT2 will cost, but other Porsche 911 models sport prices between $73,000 and more than $130,000. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have that kind of money just laying around. And if I did, I’d probably spend it on something more practical, like a house, or several cheaper cars. If you can afford one of these hot sports cars, by all means, please buy one. Just don’t tell me about it.
